Details
Celebrate lower air density. At high altitudes, the air is thinner, which creates less drag on the ball, allowing it to maintain more speed and carry. On average, a golf ball can travel about 5-10% farther for every 1,000 feet (300 meters) of elevation gain. At 5,000 feet, you might see a 25-50 yard increase in distance compared to sea level.
